Like many of you,I have been feeling a range of evolving emotions over the last two weeks as the Coronavirus has spread to our part of world and has now become a global pandemic: Denial, disbelief, anger, despair and now resolve. The new reality of these unprecedented times is certainly overwhelming as new information and restrictions comes literally hourly. No doubt your head is spinning, as mine is, from the non-stop breaking news.
My intention is to stay strong, stay positive and do my individual part to prevent the spread further so that we see can see an end to this. That means staying put at home. No, it is certainly not the time to travel or encourage anyone to book in the near future. Last week was a tough awakening for clients and myself as vacations, after months of planning and discussions, had to be cancelled. It is important to be safe and not take risks. The Maldives, Paris, Rome, Morocco and wonderful places all over the world will all be there for another time to discover and enjoy as they too are struggling. The incredible travel partners I work with, my travel colleagues and the Virtuoso network, have all been absolutely amazing and I am so proud to be a part of this incredible industry. As the pace of life slows drastically and most of us with kids start setting up our homes as virtual learning areas for school, it is a good time stay connected and reconnect with those who need moral support and find ways to help the local community who are struggling.
At Inviato, we will continue to be a resource for travel inspiration and information so you can continue to dream about places to go when the time is right. This was the mission when I created Inviato 10 years ago and will continue to be so.I am always here to be an ear, advisor, and resource. We are all in this together and will come out stronger! Wishing you all to stay healthy and safe!
